"Pungency and piquancy of citrus zest and peach kernel but also alluring apple blossom and honeysuckle accent the brightly juicy apple and lemon fruit of Haag's 2010 Brauneberger Juffer Riesling trocken, whose 12.5% alcohol reinforces a sense of stuffing engendered by high extract, but does not preclude a welcome sense of levity. Underlying walnut oil adds richness along with additional piquancy, and wet stone a very Mosel sense of place. I suspect this long-finishing Riesling will remain lovely for at least 5-6 years. Oliver Haag is very aware of the role this bottling can play in offering a stylistic alternative to the more opulent and weighty Grosses Gewachs, even though - like nearly all German growers of Riesling (or for that matter Pinot) he professes the desire to retain a sense of elegance and refinement in the latter. Prompted, he's willing to admit that the present wine is more Mosel-typical." (Parker's Wine Advocate 199)
