"Kunstler's 2008 Hochheimer Kirchenstuck Riesling Kabinett trocken displays a rather Muscat- or Scheurebe-like nose not unusual for its vintage, incorporating sage, grapefruit, mint and passion fruit. Glossy and polished in texture, generously juicy, and balancing much as did its dry (non-Pradikat) Herrenberg counterpart, this finishes on a decidedly herbal pungency, and hence less lusciously or multi-facetedly than that wine. Still, with its exemplary balance, this will prove highly versatile over at least the next 3-5 years - one simply must attend carefully to Sauvignon-like aspect in pairing it with cuisine."
