"Fresh pear and crabapple inform the buoyant, infectiously juicy Spreitzer 2009 Winkeler Jesuitengarten Riesling Kabinett halbtrocken. Hints of pineapple, ginger, and somehow crystalline crushed stone add to a vivaciously interactive personality, with 15 grams of residual sugar deftly supporting the fruit and balancing lively acidity in a luscious finish. Especially considering what seems to be the enhanced degree of difficulty in recent years of achieving focused, fresh Riesling from Winkels relatively low-elevation and moisture-retentive vineyards, this represents a resounding success. I would not hesitate to plan on enjoying it over at least the next decade."
