"Based on Chardonnay, Auxerrois and Pinot Meunier (Schwarzriesling), the 2019 Brut Nature Cuvée Elena opens with a fine, deep yet intensely aromatic, fruity as well as matured bouquet of ripe fruits (stewed and brown apples) intertwined with notes of nougat and years of lees aging. However, despite its complexity, there is stimulating freshness too. Disgorged early this year, this is a rich yet pure, saline and very elegant sparkling wine with great finesse and balance or even uplifted opulence in regards to complexity. I wouldn't call this wine powerful, but it's as persistent and relentless as it is fine, fresh and playful. The finish is salivating and reveals lemon-fresh notes. This is a beautiful aperitif and menu wine for many dishes. The price (25 euros ex-cellar) is almost a gift. 12% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted in July 2024."
