In der Nase fast weihnachtlich anmutendes Gewürzpotpourri, Zimt, Nelke, Sternanis mit reifen dunklen Früchten, sehr aromatische Tiefe, saftige, fast marmeladige Früchte und ätherische Kräuter. Am Gaumen mineralische Frische, Kirschnoten, sehr schön reif, doch mit noch deutlicher Fruchtsäure. Sehr feine, gut eingebundene Tannine, im Gegensatz zur Nase eher schlank und kühl wirkend, doch bis zum Ende mit reifer Fruchtigkeit, bleibt lange vibrierend am Gaumen. (15.11.23)
Dominant ist freilich der Syrah, aber die Geheimzutat ist Alicante Henri Bouschet, zwischen 80 und 100 Jahre alte Reben mit nur 15hl/ha Ertrag. Wenn vollreif, ist die Traube selbst fast schon Brombeerkonfitüre - viel zu intensiv für sich selbst, herausragend gut jedoch im Verschnitt.
Vin de France - wegen des Alicante, die Parzellen sind eigentlich alle AOP mit nur 25 hl/ha Ertrag.

"While terroir shines through in Terre des Dames La Dame and La Diva, the signature of the winemaker is the purity of the melody, running long, strong and as clear as a flute through the symphony of oak and place. Grenache plays the strings, soaring high and succulent, pouring red-berried juice like the scarlet threads of violin notes, the deeper-red ribbons of cello. Syrah plays the oboe, reverberating depth, a savoury undertow. Alicante is percussion: the tense heart rhythm of the wine, the undercurrent, the cymbal-flash of bright, dark-berried intensity; the bruise-blue ba-boom that starts like a shadow and blooms through the wine like purple flowers. The tannins start taut, nervous, fractional, almost breathy. But over six hours, moment by moment, they began to breathe more openly, more evenly, allowing spaces between them, becoming more interstitial than structural, moving like dancers through the fruit.
