The characteristic phenolic impingement associated with Grenache Gris as well as an improbably sheer juiciness for a wine this thickly-rich, make for a finish that genuinely invigorates. This is as fine a wine of its genre as I have ever encountered, and while I lack experience with aging white Banyuls, I anticipate - by analogy with white Maury - that this will delight through at least 2017 and quite possibly long thereafter.
