"Bottled a few days ago, the 2020 Silvaner Grauer Stein displays an intensely yellow-colored, slightly cloudy color. It is deep, dense and very complex on the pure yet concentrated nose that reveals ripe yellow fruit aromas intertwined with sur lie, lemony and crushed stone notes. This is a full-bodied, rich and dense yet pure, fresh, refined and elegantly textured Sylvaner with serious mineral grip and tension and a very intense and substantial nose. It has stimulatingly crisp phenolics from ripe but fresh Sylvaner berries that were pressed in an old Bucher basket press. Aged in two halbstück vats for 18 months. Impressive wine. Tasted at the domaine in August 2022." (Stephan Reinhardt)
