"Wagner's 2021 Siefersheim Riesling Porphyr shows a very clear, pure and intense bouquet of crushed stones, herbs, lemon oil, just-ripe pineapples and ripe Riesling berries intertwined with the coolish nuances that make, at least in Germany, the X factor of a great wine. The palate is rather rich and textural but also refined and elegant since this juicy, dense and savory Riesling is lifted by ripe and saline acidity and structured by the mineral base as well as fine tannins. The finish is dry, firm, elegant and balanced yet still that of a very young wine that will gain in finesse with bottle age (and does over three days in the opened bottle). 12.5% stated alcohol. Screw-cap closure. Tasted in December 2022." Stephan Reinhardt
